Noise
Noise-induced hearing loss is a major concern in all industries. Employees who work in noisy environments can experience noise-induced trauma to the ear that can lead to serious hearing impairments unknown to the worker until it is too late. Guzzardi & Associates can do noise assessments to determine the noise levels at the worksite and help asses the hearing protection required. Detailed studies of noise can be done with noise dosimeters to help assess individual worker exposure to noise.
Respirator Fit Testing
If workers are required to wear a mask in the province of AB, then they are required to demonstrate an effective seal. Guzzardi & Associates can provide quantitative fit-tests to ensure clients meet this requirement. We help in the education of selection, usage and care of mask for our clients.
Hydrocarbon Sampling
Sampling for benzene, ethyl benzene, toluene and xylene (BTEX) as well as total hydrocarbons can be done for clients to ensure that over-exposure to these aromatics is not occurring.
Chemical Exposure Monitoring
Most of the provinces have exposures limits for certain agents to ensure that industry does not allow over exposure to occur. Guzzardi & Associates helps client’s achieve this goal by providing the sampling exercises needed to collect data and to interpret the results and ensure that compliance is achieved. Sampling protocol is in conjunction with NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) methodologies.

NORM(Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) Surveys
Radioactive isotopes found in nature can become a problem in the Oil & Gas process streams. Guzzardi & Associates can assess where the NORM exists in the process streams and help clients deal with any NORM issues found. We also work with NORMCAN Controls Inc. a division of CCS Trust to do the remediation and development of NORM programs for clients.
Indoor Air Quality
Pollutants entering a commercial high rise and affecting occupants is a common problem for property management companies. Guzzardi & Associates can assist clients with issues concerning this matter. We can measure things like but not limited to: CO, CO2, Relative Humidity, Temperature, Total VOC’s, particulate, formaldehyde, etc. If issues are found, we can find a solution!!
